Before You Enter – Key Things to Know

Before diving into the full terms, here are 5 key things to know:

1. One vote per person – Creating multiple accounts or suspicious voting activity may lead to disqualification or account suspension.

2. You grant Trick or Treat usage rights – Entries may be used in Trick or Treat’s marketing, social media, or blog content, even if later deleted.

3. Treat Boxes must be claimed within 5 days of winning – Winners must provide a valid postal address within 5 days of being notified of winning. This is so we can ship out prizes as quickly as possible.

4. If your entry features a child or their work – The child must match the age category, and you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to share their image or work.

5. Original entries only – No AI-generated content (unless the competition explicity allows AI images in its description), or entries not created by you or your child.

Competition Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to all competitions hosted on the Trick or Treat platform ("TOT"). By entering any competition, you agree to the following:

1. Entry Rules

• All entries must be original images or videos of original work or real people.

• AI-generated content is not permitted unless it is explicitly stated in the competition description.

• Entries must have been created in the 12 months prior to the date of the competition opening. (Unless it is explicity stated in the competition description, for example a throwback competition may allow entries of any age).

• Entries must not contain inappropriate content, including nudity, violence, or offensive material.

• “Entrant” refers to the person submitting the entry. Entrants must be over 18 and live in the region the competition is open to.

• By submitting an entry, Entrants confirm that all persons featured, or their work featured, have given permission to the Entrant (or have had permission granted on their behalf).

TOT reserves the right to verify the authenticity of entries and disqualify those suspected of being fraudulent or in breach of rules. Any entry that breaches these terms may be removed, and the user may be suspended or banned from TOT.

2. Entries Involving Minors

• If your entry features a minor (under 18), you must have explicit consent from a parent or legal guardian to share it. By submitting an entry, you confirm that you have obtained this consent.

• The child featured in your entry — or whose work you are submitting — must have been within the stated age category at the time the entry was created.

• Entries must be the sole work of the child, except for in pumpkin carving competitions where Adults may assist with carving for safety reasons, but not with design or concept

• TOT reserves the right to verify age eligibility and may disqualify entries that do not meet the specified criteria.

• We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we have collected data from your child without consent, please contact us.

3. Voting Rules

• Voting is open to registered TOT users only.

• Each user may vote once per competition.

• In the event of a tie, the prize will be awarded to all top-ranked Entrants unless more than three entries are tied, in which case three winners will be randomly selected from the top entries.

• Voting closes around 3pm UTC on the date shown in the competition listing.

• Creating multiple accounts to vote is strictly prohibited.

• If suspicious voting patterns are detected, TOT may pause voting to investigate, reset votes to ensure fair play, remove the entry in question and suspend accounts related to the activity.

4. Prizes

• Prizes are either:

o A treat box

o A cash or cash-equivalent voucher

Treat Box

• A winning Entrant of a Treat Box will be asked to provide a valid postal address within 5 days of being notified. Failure to do so will mean the Entrant will not receive their prize.

• Once submitted, a postal address cannot be edited or amended.

• Treat Boxes will be dispatched within 15 days of the competition closing, provided a valid address has been received.

• If a Treat Box is unavailable, TOT will substitute a cash prize or voucher of equal value.

• TOT is not responsible for delivery delays caused by postal issues, customs, strikes, or incomplete addresses submitted by winners.

Cash Prize

• Cash prizes are delivered via a secure link, with options to claim via PayPal or vouchers from popular retailers.

• Cash prizes must be claimed within 30 days of notification. If no response is received within this time, the prize will be forfeited.

5. Winner Notification & Prize Claim

• Winners will be contacted by email within 72 hours of the competition closing. The email used will be the one you have registered your TOT account to.

• Prizes can only be claimed via the email address used to register your TOT account.

6. Competition Management

• TOT may change competition dates or close a competition early at its discretion. Any such changes will be reflected on the website.

• TOT reserves the right to remove a competition or individual entries at any time.

• If a competition is removed, all entries associated with it may also be deleted.

• An entry needs to receive a minimum of 10 votes to be eligible for a prize.

• TOT also reserves the right to withhold a prize if a winning entry is found to breach any part of these terms.

7. Use of Entries

By submitting an entry, you grant Trick or Treat:

• A worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, modify, publish, translate, distribute, and display the content in any format or channel, including marketing, press, merchandise, blogs, and social media

• The right to retain and use your content even if your account or entry is later deleted.

• The right to crop, edit, or adapt entries at TOT's discretion.

• You waive any right to be credited to object to edits or reuse, or to approve how the content is used.

By submitting an entry, you confirm that you have the right to grant this licence — including consent from any individuals (or their legal guardians) featured in the content.

While your content may continue to appear on TOT channels after entry or account deletion, we will review takedown requests sent to [email protected] and may remove posts at our discretion.

If you are not comfortable with these terms, please do not submit an entry.

• By entering, you consent to receive competition-related communications.

• The prize is non-transferable, and no cash alternative will be offered unless specified.

• TOT accepts no responsibility for late, incomplete, corrupted, or lost entries, or for any technical malfunctions or failures that may affect participation.

• Entrants found to be abusing the spirit of the competition or acting fraudulently will be disqualified at TOT's sole discretion.

• Some competitions are region-restricted. TOT reserves the right to disqualify entries from regions not specified in the competition listing

• TOT collects and processes your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand your rights and how your data is handled.

• This promotion is void where prohibited by law.

• This promotion is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts. By entering, international users agree to waive any conflicting rights under local laws to the extent permitted.

• Trick or Treat reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Any changes will be clearly posted on the website.

• Apple Inc. and Google LLC are not sponsors of, and are not involved in any way with, any competition. Questions about a competition go to the Promoter, not to Apple or Google.

10. Best Pumpkin Patch Competition

• The Best Pumpkin Patch competition is only open to commercial pumpkin patches. Entries from anyone else, including private gardens and individuals, will be removed.

• To be eligible to win a county prize or Best Overall Patch, an entry must receive at least 50 votes. For this competition, this replaces the 10-vote minimum in section 6.

• If no patch in a county reaches 50 votes, no prize will be awarded for that county.
